The Big Busk: Communal Strum & Sing-along with special guest Clarence Greenwood

Calling all acoustic guitar players! Musicians of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in this free concert on Saturday, July 13 where you are the performer. Hosted by Citizen Cope, in partnership with Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy.

Busk (intr. v) is defined as “to play music or entertain in a public space’ from old French busquer, to prowl; from Italian buscare, to procure, gain.”

Clarence Greenwood, also known by his stage name, Citizen Cope, is an American songwriter, producer and singer. He invites you to strum along with him and a few friends at a community musical happening at Pier 1 Granite Prospect on Saturday, July 13 . This program is a part of Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy’s free summer programming. Musicians of all ages and abilities are invited to participate — by helping to select the songs to be performed, and by taking part in a massive, sing- and play-along!

SUBMIT A SONG!

We are calling on the public to recommend their favorite busking songs for the group to perform – familiar sing-along numbers that can be performed acoustically! Check back to vote on six songs for the final performance – the winning songs won’t be revealed until the day of the concert.

The Big Busk: Submit a Song!

Songs should be suitable for an acoustic busking group to perform. Please only one song per submission (multiple submissions allowed).

SIGN UP TO PERFORM!

Musicians of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in this free concert where you are the performer. Express your interest below and we’ll be in touch with details, song selections, and to confirm participation. You should be available about 2:30 PM, 1 hour ahead of the concert, to meet the other performers and do a group rehearsal ahead of the live performance. Musicians of all ages and abilities are welcome! During the performance volunteers will hold up chord cue sheets. Exact meeting time and details to be confirmed closer.
